Not just India many other countries are facing a tough time fighting the cruel corona. The fear of community transmission is also scaring the hell out. But even in this arena of death, determined to bend the virus on its knees are certain heroes whose fear seems to have vanished in face of their duties.
GOD ON EARTH-THE DOCTORS
Many workers, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, police, pilots, railway workers and rubbish collectors refuse to be in the lockdown or worry about their lives considering the fact that the country's healthcare system may not be able to cope with a massive outbreak. The country only has 0.5 hospital beds per 1,000 people, one of the lowest ratios in the world, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. They surely are scared yet continuing to devote their time and risk their lives for the country.
The country is under a 21 day lockdown. The time is surely a difficult one to stay indoors and manage the eatables especially for the poor. Yet we have to do it as there is no other alternative to fight the fatal pandemic. But the policemen are having a tough time forcing people to stay indoors. There attempts might be strict but the aim is public safety. They are on roads 24/7 assuring that people don’t come on the roads. Even they have families and love their lives as we do yet the devotion towards the people of the country keeps them upstanding.
SANITIZING THE CITY FROM THE VIRUS- THE REFUSE COLLECTORS
The very news of the lockdown also scared many of the personnels from the health and cleanliness department. Moreover the risk of collecting and disposing the garbage is the biggest risk of the hour. Certain idiots refuse to cover their bins yet realizing the importance of their jobs, these people are consistently on work cleaning the city and maintaining the hygiene decorum.
GUARDING UNDER JEOPARDY - THE SECURITY GUARDS
The security guards are on duty to secure the community premises constantly assuring that people stay indoors. They also have to deal with their anger when people want to move out to buy food or medicines. But feel sad to risk their life outdoors failing to convince a few morons who fight to move outside because they are feeling bored and want to go for a drive.
India has shut down trains and flights. But pilots and railway staff have been doing their jobs until now. National carrier Air India flew several rescue flights to evacuate Indians from Europe and Iran.
The railway staff kept working because so many passengers wanted to reach their villages before the lockdown. But the saddest part is that people are not acknowledging their efforts that they are performing their duties in this dangerous epoch. Leave about recognizing their efforts we literate yet uneducated lot is making their jobs even arduous by not obeying them instead insulting them. Just banging on the plates to show our appreciation will not work, least we can do for them is to stay at home for the next 20 days.
